How to convert JPG to WebP
- Add one or up to 20 valid JPG or JPEG files, each within 25 MiB and 40 megapixels.
- Choose WebP quality from 10 to 100; the default is 90.
- Convert one file at a time, compare actual sizes, then download individual WebP files or a ZIP.
Choose WebP quality
Quality 90 is the default. Lower values can change more visible detail; higher values may retain more detail and use more bytes. Quality 100 is still a lossy re-encode.
JPG to WebP is another lossy encode
JPEG has already discarded image information. Encoding it as lossy WebP can change pixels again and cannot restore lost detail. Avoid repeated JPG–WebP conversions; if you have the original PNG, TIFF, or raw image, use that source when possible.

What WebP quality should I choose?
Start at 90 and inspect the result. Lower quality can reduce bytes but change more detail; 100 is not lossless.
Does converting JPG to WebP improve quality?
No. JPEG is already lossy, and WebP encoding can introduce additional pixel changes. Use the original source image when available.
Will EXIF orientation be correct?
Yes. The JPEG visual orientation is applied once to output pixels; the WebP does not rely on the original orientation tag.
