Ratio is not resolution
Aspect ratio describes the relationship between width and height, such as 16:9. Resolution describes exact pixels, such as 1920 × 1080. Two images can share the same ratio while having very different resolutions.
Every mode keeps the source pixels proportional. The difference is whether content is removed or new canvas space is added.

PNG Fit output can keep transparent canvas space. Crop keeps source transparency where present. Blur and an opaque Solid background remove transparent outer space. Animated PNG or WebP input is rejected rather than flattened silently.
Browser re-encoding does not promise to retain EXIF, camera metadata, ICC profiles, or animation. JPEG orientation is applied to the visible pixels before the new frame is created.
The result is a PNG. A larger canvas or PNG encoding can produce a file larger than the original, especially when the source is JPG or WebP. Keep the original and inspect the downloaded result before replacing it.
No. Aspect ratio changes the shape relationship between width and height. Resizing changes exact pixel dimensions; it may or may not change the ratio.
